Weather in Mumbai has once again change its mood and this time towards the cooler side. The city has been battling warm weather for the last few days. But now mercury has once again started dipping, paving for cool and pleasant weather conditions.

In fact, minimum temperature on Tuesday dropped to 14°C, which was also the lowest minimum temperature in February since 2013. This was three degrees below the normal average temperature of 17.8°C.

According to Skymet Weather, Mumbai is not used to see such low night temperatures being a coastal area and thus, weather was cold according to the city standards.

Meanwhile, day maximums have also registered a drop and are settling below normal. On Monday, Mumbai witnessed maximum temperature of 27.9°C, three degrees below normal as compared to normal average of 31.2°C.

The reason behind the variation in temperatures can be attributed to the continuous flow of cool northerly winds across Rajasthan, Gujarat and Konkan & Goa region. In wake of this, there has been a significant drop in the temperatures all across these states.

Further, these winds continue to flow over the region. Thus, mercury across Mumbai will continue to settle on the lower side for another 24 to 48 hours.
