The City of Dreams,Mumbaiis famous for many things, Bollywood or financial capital or Vada Pao, the list is endless. But one thing Mumbai is definitely infamous for is its weather. Summer is usually a tough time for the residents of Mumbai as the high levels of mercury with high levels of humidity makes a deadly combo.
Even though rain in Mumbai makes the city a pleasant wonderland but Mumbai receives 95% of its rainfall during Monsoon, i.e. from June 1 to September 30. The annual average rainfall for Mumbai is 2258 mm, whereas the city receives 2165 mm of rainfall during Monsoon.
This year, from March end to first week of April, Mumbai witnessed an unusual increase in minimum temperatures. Both maximum and minimum temperatures were above the normal levels and thanks to increased humidity levels, the weather remained uneasy.
But in the last 3-4 days, mercury levels were near normal. This is due to the persistent wind flow from Arabian Sea. But this scenario will change very quickly as the temperature profile will see a significant rise.
A change in wind direction is expected which will increase the temperatures over Mumbai. Winds will change direction and will blow from inland, from WestMadhya PradeshandGujaratregion where the temperature is already high.
This rise in temperature will not last long as another change in wind direction is expected. Weekends over the city will see another drop in temperature but pleasant weather will still be missing from the region.
