Mumbai rains have not completely left the maximum city despite the end of the four-month long Southwest Monsoon season. The first week of October was less rainy for the city and the city did remain dry for the entire week.
However, rainfall activity did pick up pace thereafter and the city did record a few good spells of rainfall during that period. In fact, a few moderate spells of rain were also witnessed by the maximum city. The last 24 hours were also quite similar and Mumbai did record some good showers during the same time period.

In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Santa Cruz observatory in Mumbai recorded 7 mm of rainfall. Meanwhile, the Colaba observatory did remain dry.
These weather conditions can be attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over East Central Arabian Sea off Konkan Coast. Now, this system is expected to weaken.
