Mumbai has been witnessing dry weather conditions for the last few days, leading to steep rise in the day temperatures.
As a result, Mumbaikars have been braving hot weather, with no respite in offing for the next few days.
Day maximums have been settling well above the normal average of 33.5°C. On Thursday, Santa Cruz Observatory recorded maximum temperature of 35.4°C that was 2.5 degrees above normal.
Similarly, Colaba Observatory witnessed 35.6°C which was three degrees above normal.
According to Skymet Weather, an anti-cyclone has been prevailing over the Kutch region of Gujarat. Due to this, dry northeasterly winds have been blowing over most parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai.
Besides this, clear sky conditions further paved way for rise in mercury. However, evenings and mornings are pleasant and breezy on account of the sea breeze.
Weathermen predict no change in the present weather conditions, at least for the next couple of days.
Though city does not record any significant amount of rain in the month of November but it does see some moderate showers to the tune of 16 mm.
However, this year, the entertainment capital has not recorded even a single rainfall so far. Moreover, we do not see any rain spell approaching in the near future as well.
