Mumbai weather has remained on the drier side for quite some time now. As far as the temperatures are concerned, the city of Mumbai had been seeing comfortable nights and slightly warm days. The minimum temperatures were settling in the late teens, while the maximum temperatures were not settling above the 30-degree mark.
However, for the past two days, weather conditions have once again changed and Mumbaikars have been witnessing very warm days with maximums settling beyond the 35-degree mark.

Yesterday, the maximum settled at 35.6 degrees Celsius, which happens to be 5 degrees above the normal levels. As far as the minimums are concerned, they settled at 24 degrees Celsius which is again 6 degrees above normal.
For a coastal city like Mumbai, sea breeze is an important factor when it comes to change in maximum temperatures. During the day, winds from the land blow over the region. Thereafter, see breeze sets in. Thus, the earlier the sea breeze begins to blow over the city, the lower do the maximums get. Thus, a day before when the maximum had reached 36.1 degrees, sea breeze had begun to blow over the region at around 2:30 PM.
Meanwhile, yesterday when the maximum settled at 35.6 degrees, the timing of the sea breeze was around 2:00 PM. Thus, even a difference of about half an hour results in a slight change in maximum.
For the next two to three days, the weather will remain very warm over the city of Mumbai. In fact, no major change in temperatures is expected during this time. The minimum temperature may register a slight fall in another day or two, but no major relief is expected.
