Mumbai wakes up to coldest morning, chill to continue

Weather of Mumbai has remained mild this season. Both the minimum and maximum temperatures have stayed above or close to their normal levels. But today, people in Mumbai woke up to a shivering morning as the minimums recorded early morning was the lowest of the season.

As per the Santa Cruz Observatory, from past two days, the minimum temperature of the commercial capital of the country has remained under 15°C. Mumbai shivered in 13.6°C on Tuesday however, minimums plummeted today as well.

The Santa Cruz observatory recorded the minimums settling at 12.5°C today early morning. This is basically 4 degrees down than the normal for the area. Dahanu also observed minimum temperature at 14.1°C which is 3 degrees below the normal for the area.

From past few days, North Konkan region along with coastal Mumbai has been witnessing northerly and northeasterly dry and cool winds. This is primarily the reason the city has been observing cool weather conditions.

However, as per Skymet Weather, a trough is expected to develop after 24 hours over the area. So, Mumbai is expected to witness very cool mornings for another 24 hours. Thereafter, the temperature is expected to rise marginally.

Hence, in a nutshell, it can be concluded that Mumbai has witnessed a glimpse of one of the coldest morning today. But the weather is again expected to get back to warm and less shivery 24 hours hence.
