During the last few days the metropolitan city of Mumbai has been experiencing very warm afternoons. The day temperatures were recorded close to 35 degrees. Night temperatures remained pleasant. Along with this the weather has been remaining continuously dry. However, a relief from the prevailing weather is likely to ensue soon as a hint of Winters is paving its way over the city.
Presently, a Cyclonic Circulation is developing over equatorial Indian ocean and adjoining parts of Lakshadweep. This system would be intensifying into a Low-Pressure Area during the next 12 hours while moving West-northwestwards along the western coast.
Under the influence of this system, Mumbai city will experience cloudy sky conditions. These similar conditions will be prevailing during the next three to four days. Moreover, the city is likely to experience light to moderate rains and thundershowers beginning December 3 prevailing till December 5.
These rains will be accompanied with moderate winds over the region. Presently, the wind speed over the city is mainly light which will be strengthening as time progresses.
With this, the day temperatures would also be decreasing continually and would be settling down between 30 to 32 degree Celsius.
At present, air quality continues to remain ‘very poor’ over the city. This air quality is likely to improve under the influence of these rains.
