The city of Mumbai has seen a very disappointing August in terms of rains wherein the commercial capital of the country has not even recorded 35 mm of rain so far with the monthly average being over 550 mm. In the last 24 hours also the city recorded only 0.6 mm of rain.
However, in view of the low pressure area forming in Bay of Bengal and moving in land, coming closer to Madhya Pradesh, bringing south-westerlies along the coast which will bring in some rainfall for the city of Mumbai for a change.
Now, the rainfall jinx may break over Mumbai and the city is expected to see some moderate rainfall activity between August 22 and 26th. However, we do not expect the city to see typical Mumbai rains and heavy showers or three-digit rain for activities will remain far away. Nevertheless, the city may see double digit rainfall during this period
