Mumbai weather has remained hot and humid for quite some time now. The city has remained dry for a long time, the rain gods seem to have been ignoring this city for a while now.
These rains continued for about few days, thereafter taking a backseat once again. Since then, the city of Mumbai has remained dry and humid. In fact, the next 24 hours are also likely to remain the same with the weather remaining hot and rains staying out of sight, but clouding may appear over Mumbai from May 28.
Thereafter, a trough is likely to develop from the north Arabian Sea up to coastal Maharashtra. With this, light rains may occur over the region by May 29 and then pre-Monsoon showers are likely to intensify over this region.

However, around May 30-31, as the trough becomes well-marked over the area, there are some chances of rainfall activity to intensify over the city. In fact, thereafter, Pre-Monsoon activities will continue to appear over Mumbai until Monsoon 2017 makes an appearance over the city.
With this, Pre-Monsoon activity is expected to begin over Mumbai and its adjoining areas by May end and will continue during the first week of June as well.
These rains will not be a continuous affair, but on and off showers will persist over the region. Southwest Monsoon usually makes an onset over Mumbai after June 10.
