November 11, 2016 11:28 AM |

mumbai cold It is just November and the Mumbai weather is already showing the traits similar to Delhi weather. The financial hub of India, Mumbai, is observing the morning chill as the minimum temperature in the city has remained 5 degrees below than the normal since last two days.

Weather in Mumbai is expected to remain slightly cold for next 2-3 days with minimums remaining below than the normal. For last two days, the minimum temperature in Mumbai has remained at 16.4°C which is lowest for the season and since 2012. However, chilly mornings along with unusually cold nights have affected the air quality in Mumbai. Air quality in Mumbai has worsened as the Air Quality Index of the city rose to 257 on 10th November from 242 on November 9th, i.e. Wednesday. The AQI was measured by System for Air Quality Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR).

An AQI between 200 and 300 is considered "poor" and it usually affects people who have heart or lung diseases, older adults and children.

Cold northwesterly winds blowing from Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra upto Mumbai have been a key reason why the Mumbai weather has been cold since the beginning of this week. According to Skymet Weather, weather conditions are not expected to alter much and so the night and morning temperatures will remain below than the average, leading to chill in the air from dusk to dawn.
