Since the ‘city of dreams - Mumbai’ is coastal and comes in tropical climate zone, climatic variations are not too high here. Moreover, the city’s coastal nature keeps inserting humidity throughout the year. Hence, seasonal variations are felt less here and that is why Mumbai experiences mainly two seasons- I.e rainy and other time summer.
However, the time between December to early March is generally considered to be the distinctive ‘winter time’ for Mumbai.
At present, dry and warm easterly winds are blowing over Mumbai, hence the days are felt as warm while nights are cool . Moreover, in the absence of any significant weather system over the city, dry weather is prevailing over the entire city and its adjoining areas.
In the coming days too, no major change in the wind pattern is expected. Thus, residents will continue to witness dry weather conditions.
Further, due to presence of a Cyclonic Circulation at the mid- tropospheric levels over Coastal Karnataka, the sky conditions as a result, will remain partly cloudy during next 24 to 36 hours over Mumbai. Thereafter, these clouds will gradually decrease.
Talking about the temperatures, day maximums will remain around 34℃-36℃, while minimums will settle between 20℃- 22℃. Further, no major change in temperatures is expected in the coming days.
