For the city of Mumbai, the month of June as well as July were bumper monsoon months wherein the city recorded a lot of rain as compare to its monthly normal. Moreover, Mumbai recorded more than 2000 mm of rainfall during the months of June and July.
However, as far as the month of August is concerned, it seems like the city is expected to see contrast weather conditions as they have only been single digit rainfall until now. Moreover, so far in August Mumbai has only recorded 19.3 mm of rain against its monthly average of 560.8 mm. The total rainfall so far is not even an hours' rainfall for Mumbai during the monsoon months.
These poor conditions are expected to extend for at least the next 10 days. It is not like the city will not see any rain but only single digit rainfall is expected and the typical Mumbai rains will remain absent for the next 10 days as well. For now, it looks like we may be heading for a deficit August for the city of Mumbai.
