After remaining in the deluge for almost two to three days during the fag end of August, the violent Mumbai rains have once again step back. The torrential showers that lashed and created chaos in the city, worst affecting on August 28 and 29, took a U-turn and the life in the metro city is all set to return to normal.
The rain water is still under the seeping in the process and dry weather in the city from the last 24-48 hours is also lending a hand in overcoming the destruction caused by those flooding rains. Though light spells did continue in parts of the city, these spells have not affected the capital of Maharashtra much.
Both the observatories, Santa Cruz and Colaba did not record any rains in the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday. This dry and comfortable weather was much needed for a chaos free Ganpati Visarjan that is all set to happen today.

As per Skymet Weather, the offshore trough that gave flooding rains in Mumbai has once again become inactive due to which rain intensity has reduced drastically. Further, the similar weather is anticipated to prevail in the entertainment city for the next 2-3 days. Maximums are also likely to remain in lower 30’s paving way for a good for a rain-free Ganpati Visarjan.
However, the offshore trough may once again become feeble and rains may once again commence around September 8. But the intensity of these showers will be light and patchy in nature and will not be heavy covering some localities.
