This weather systems have resulted in moderate to heavy rain and thunder activities across Mumbai and suburbs. During the last 24 hours, Santacruz recorded 56mm, Colaba 15mm, and Thane 17mm rain. Goregaon West, Santacruz West, Andheri East, Koliwada, Dahisar, Mira Bhayandar, and suburbs of Mumbai have recorded around 100 mm or more rainfall in the last 24 hours. Most of the eastern suburbs of Mumbai have recorded heavy downpour.
This is the second-highest 24-hour rainfall for Mumbai and suburbs in a decade. On October 13th in 2011, 24-hour rainfall recorded was 71mm. Record for 24 hours rainfall over Mumbai is 140.8mm established on October 4 in 1988.
These ongoing rain activities over Mumbai and suburbs will fade away by today. The weather over Mumbai and suburbs will become almost dry with partly cloudy sky. There may be a marginal increase in the temperatures in Mumbai and suburbs but the weather is going to remain present for another 2 to 3 days.
This year withdrawal of monsoon has come late from Western Rajasthan. Mumbai may also witness the late withdrawal of monsoon. It may get delayed by one week or so.
