Mumbai Rains

Since July 18th, Mumbai rains have become subdued. But during the last 24 hours, Santacruz observatory recorded 49 mm rain whereas Colaba received very light rain. Although rains were not widespread, it helped in lowering the temperatures.

The cyclonic circulation which was over South Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining North interior Karnataka is responsible for these rain activities. A cyclonic circulation which is over Lakshadweep and adjoining southeast and South-Central Arabian Sea will move in a northerly direction.

Rain activities are expected to continue on and off over Mumbai and suburbs. There may be scattered rains during the next 24 hours. Mumbai rains are expected to increase on July 25th and 26th, but the intensity will not be very heavy, good enough to bring down the temperatures. Mumbai weather will become comfortable for the next 2 to 3 days. The weather of Mumbai will not go completely dry for at least the next 4 to 5 days. Relief from sultry weather is possible until the next 4 to 5 days over Mumbai and suburbs.
