Mumbai rains have been giving the residents good rains for the past few days. In fact, light to moderate rains have been lashing Mumbai for the past ten days. While there were days during the beginning of October when the city did witness a dry spell for about a week, but rains did make a comeback.
The last 24 hours were also quite similar with the city of Mumbai. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, the Santa Cruz observatory witnessed a good 10 mm of rainfall while the Colaba observatory only saw a few traces of rains.

Even now one or two spells of rain are expected to continue today. Thereafter, weather of Mumbai will become dry and will remain the same until Diwali. Thus, residents of Mumbai will enjoy a rain free Diwali for now.

However, once again, rain may commence over the city around October 20 and 21. During that time, rains will occur due to the inward movement of a weather system which is persisting as a depression over West Central Bay of Bengal.
The system will gradually weaken into a low and travel towards Maharashtra giving rain and thundershowers over many parts of the state. Mumbai will also receive light to moderate rains. Weather conditions will once again become dry.
