As predicted, Mumbai rains have slowed down a bit since Thursday morning. Although it has rained in many parts of the city, but the intensity has remained light to moderate only. According to Skymet Weather, we can expect some moderate showers today over the city, with one or two intense Monsoon rains for shorter duration. Sky conditions would also continue to be overcast.
However, dip in rainfall would be for a very brief period, as fresh Monsoon surge would once again lead to increase in rains by Friday. In fact, we can expect moderate to heavy rains over Mumbai for the entire weekend. We would see intense clouding for most parts of the day, with rains following soon.
According to weathermen, likely low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal would be moving inland in west-northwest direction by July 26 and revive the off-shore trough again. As a result, intense heavy rains would make a comeback.
Commuters would face difficulties while travelling on account of local flooding.
Mumbai has been witnessing heavy rains for the last few days. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 on Thursday, Colaba Observatory had recorded 52 mm of rains, while Santa Cruz saw 38 mm.
