Mumbai rains have remained on the backseat for quite some time now. The city has been seeing rains in single digit since the fag end of August and the saga continued to be the same during the month of September as well.
During the last 24 hours, light rains were seen over some parts with moderate showers in some areas were seen over Konkan Coast, Mumbai and North Madhya Maharashtra. In fact, from 8:30 am yesterday until 8:30 am today, Mumbai’s Santa Cruz recorded 1 mm of rain, while Colaba saw 2 mm of rains.
Now, a cyclonic circulation has developed over southern parts of Gujarat Coast at mid tropospheric levels. This system is expected to persist for some time.
Thus, light rainfall is expected over some parts of Mumbai and its suburban areas during next 24 to 48 hours. Cloudy sky conditions will prevail over the commercial capital during this time. Moreover, light breeze will prevail during the day. On the other hand, moderate breeze will blow during morning and the evening hours.
Unfortunately, residents won’t be able to see the heavy rain show over the city of Mumbai which had been persisting over the city before mid-July and showers will remain light only.
