Mumbai rains to reduce before lashing again

Monsoon rains are highly awaited by Mumbai and once Monsoon grips the entertainment capital of the country, rains make the city all the more beautiful. As Southwest Monsoon has finally made an onset over Mumbai, Mumbaikars have a reason to rejoice.

The recent spells were hefty enough to cause flight and rail delays but both the Santa Cruz and the Colaba Observatories failed to record any spells for Mumbai in the last 24 hours. As reiterated by Skymet Weather, these rains are likely to reduce before falling heavily again.

As per Skymet Weather, the offshore trough that was running from Maharashtra to Kerala coast has weakened resulting in the reduction in the rains over West Coast and thus also over Mumbai. The rain intensity over northern parts of Konkan and Goa will also start reducing. Hence, the capital of Maharashtra along with a few adjoining regions is likely to witness rains but with reduced intensity.

One or two spells of rain will keep showing up in the capital of Maharashtra but the possibilities of heavy showers are not anticipated until the weekend. However, Monsoon rains normally occur in surges over West Coast. Thus, by June 19, another surge is expected which will once again revive Monsoon rains around Mumbai and adjoining areas.

In a nutshell, Mumbaikars will have to comfort themselves with some light rainy traces for this week but the prediction says that by the next week, they will once again get to relish the famous Mumbai rains.
