Mumbai rains had been lashing the city for quite a while now. For the past couple of days, the city of Mumbai has seen heavy showers in many parts with the day before seeing three-digit rains over 200 mm to the tune of 235 mm.
Yesterday also, heavy rainfall was seen over the city of Mumbai. Santa Cruz observatory recorded 93 mm of rains in the last 24 hours from 8:30 am, wherein Colaba observed 79 mm of rainfall during the same time period.
Now, the city of Mumbai is expected to see heavy rainfall activity during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, rain in Mumbai will see a reduction and only scattered rainfall activity will be seen during this time period.
Moreover, Mumbai rains will once again increase on July 3, wherein heavy showers will be seen resulting in hefty rainy days over the city.
Talking about the rain statistics, Mumbai rains have surpassed their June rainfall quota which looked like a daunting task in the beginning.
In the month of June, Mumbai has already received 516.3 mm of rains against its monthly average of 491 mm of rainfall. The month of July will begin on a rainy note, but heavy showers will only be seen around July 4.
