Since the past 24 hours, Mumbai rains have reduced slightly with most parts recording light to moderate rainfall activity. However, there were some parts which did record heavy rainfall as well.
In the past 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Colaba witnessed 58 mm of rains while Santa Cruz saw 25 mm of rains.
Rainfall activity was well distributed through the day yesterday, with few spells being intense at times and the sky being just cloudy on the other.
Now, the Cyclonic Circulation which was persisting over South Gujarat and adjoining North Maharashtra will weaken. Moreover, the Trough which was extending from Maharashtra Coast to Kerala to has also weakened and is seen as a feeble trough along Karnataka and Kerala Coast.
With this, Mumbai rains are all set to see a reduction today onward. In fact, rains will also take a backseat over Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Marathwada. However, South Konkan and Goa will see some rainfall activity.
Now, heavy rains over the city of Mumbai are ruled out for now for at least one week. However, occasional light rains with one or two short spells of intense rains may occur but it will not disrupt the daily lives and temperatures will not rise and humidity will cause discomfort.
