The city of Mumbai has seen a decent July so far. The city had seen some three digit rainfall activity in the first week of the month itself. Thereafter, rainfall has not been intense and has varied between light to moderate with a couple of days even witnessing traces of rains.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Mumbai's Santacruz observatory recorded 26 mm of rains. The total so far is at 636 mm against the normal of 919 mm. Thus, there have been decent showers but heavy showers are coming up.

A low pressure area is over Chhattisgarh and adjoining Madhya Pradesh and is moving closer to Mumbai. Due to this, a lot of convergence will take place, and the westerlies stream will pick up. Mumbai may see heavy rains tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

After this, we can expect a reduction in rainfall wherein scattered showers are expected.
