Mumbai rains have been on the calmer side for the past few days with heavy to very heavy rains remaining far away from the city. The last 24 hours also saw a similar trend, but then, heavy rains are all set to make an appearance over the capital city of Maharashtra.
Mumbai has seen 34 mm of rain in the last 24 hours while Colaba saw 57 mm of rains in the same time frame. Models indicate that conditions are favourable for the entire Konkan region to have heavy rains for the next three days, i.e. between August 8 and 10. Right from Palghar, Thane and right down to Sindhudurg, Mahabaleshwar, Ratnagiri, Mumbai and Alibag may see heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Mumbai which has abated the three-digit rainfall for the past few days, may also see three digit rain during this period. Ease out is expected around August 11, wherein rains will be moderate in nature around that time.
