The city of Mumbai had been witnessing heavy rains since the past three days since Ganesh Chaturthi began. Moreover, rainfall activity picked up quite a bit of a pace yesterday with Santa Cruz recording a massive 242 mm of rains in the last 24 hours.
In fact, these heavy showers caused the entire city to come to a standstill after flooding conditions occurred in many parts. Road, rail and air traffic were severely affected with residents being stranded in parts as well.
However, these rains did take a backseat by last night and have been like that ever since. During the early morning hours.
Now the Monsoon surge along the West Coast will result in moderate rains with a couple of intense heavy spells over Mumbai and it's suburbs but these rains will not be as heavy as they were yesterday.
Waterlogging still persists in many parts of Mumbai and with a few moderate spells may cause some problems in parts but the situation will be much better than yesterday. Office goers can go to work but all they need to do is exercise some caution.
By tomorrow, rains will further subside and the situation will improve to quite an extent giving the Mumbaikars that much needed relief.
