The scorching summer heat that was prevailing in Mumbai from a long time took a break last night when a few traces of rainy spells poured over the city. In fact, Mumbai has witnessed rains today morning as well. These light showers also resulted in eliminating the prolonged dry spell.
These light drizzles not only made the weather of the city pleasant but also bought a sigh of relief to the Mumbaikars from the sizzling hot weather. As of now, rains are likely to intensify and continue lashing the city further.

As per Skymet Weather, a trough is seen running from South Pakistan to North Konkan and Goa region across Gujarat. In the wake of this weather system, rains over most parts of the western coast including Kerala and Karnataka has intensified resulting in rains.

Moreover, this has also led to an intensification of rains over coastal Maharashtra including Mumbai. In fact, light isolated showers are expected to make way towards Mumbai and adjoining areas today during the late afternoon and evening hours also. Though, these rains will further pick up the pace in the next 24 hours.

Skymet Weather further reiterates that on and off showers are expected to continue all through the week over Mumbai with the possibility of a dry spell of one or two days. Moreover, these pre-Monsoon showers will continue over the city until Monsoon arrives.
Counting on this, the temperatures that were settling in the range of 35°C-36°C will also drop significantly settling in the lower 30’s. Minimum temperatures are also likely to plunge. Hence, the Mumbaikars are likely to witness a pleasant morning and comparatively less warm nights.
