The city of Mumbai has seen some intense spells of rains in the last 24 hours with the Santa Cruz observatory witnessing a whopping 93 mm of rains. Colaba observatory saw 59 mm of rainfall during the same period.
Now also, good rains are expected to continue over Mumbai for the next few days. In fact, around September 15, some intense showers may be seen.
These rains are attributed to the Circulation which is off Konkan Coast and the depression which has moved towards Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh and is inching closer to Maharashtra. Due to these features, Mumbai has been receiving some rains. The line joining these two systems is also running close to Mumbai.
Gradually, after September 15, the systems are expected to move away resulting in reduction of rains.
