Mumbai rains have been going on for the past few days. So much so that for the past two weeks, there has not been one dry day for Mumbai and rains of varied intensity continue over the city.
During the last 24 hours, Mumbai recorded a good 54 mm of rain. Today, Mumbai is expected to see some heavy rains. Tomorrow, a slight reduction is expected. The reason for these rains is the off shore trough which is active and the Cyclonic circulation that has moved inland, intensifying the Monsoon surge along the coast.
Starting July 9 until July 11, we can expect rains to reduce and only light with isolated rains is likely during that time. Though a slight break in intense rains is likely for some time, conditions may build up around July 13 when a Circulation will come up in the Bay of Bengal activating a Monsoon surge along the West Coast.
So far, Mumbai has already recorded 411 mm of rain, which is pretty good in just a week. The monthly normal for July stands at 919.9 mm.
