Mumbai weather had remained dry and hot for almost the entire month of May. In fact, the maximum city had been waiting for even the minimal amount of rains at least. The city did crave for some good showers but rain gods had something else in store.

While Mumbai rains haven’t been back with a bang, light rains have begun over the city paving way for some good Pre-Monsoon showers which Mumbaikars have been waiting for since a long time. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, the Santa Cruz observatory witnessed 0.1 mm of rainfall. Meanwhile, Colaba recorded traces of rainfall.

Now, Southwest Monsoon has made an onset over Kerala and Northeast India. Conditions are favourable for further enhancement of Monsoon over more parts. With this, rain belt will cover parts of the West Coast and pre-Monsoon showers will increase over Mumbai and its adjoining areas.

In fact, good rainfall activity is likely over the city of dreams during the next 24 to 48 hours. With this, temperature drop is also likely resulting in pleasant weather conditions.

Not only this, Southwest Monsoon is likely to make an onset over Mumbai around its usual time of June 10. Until then, on and off good rains are expected to continue over Mumbai. Residents will now get that much-needed taste of the Monsoon countdown in the form of good rains.

After the arrival of Southwest Monsoon over Mumbai, those rain showers will continue to pour over the city abating even those minute signs of hot weather.
