Moderate showers were also witnessed over the Colaba observatory at 26 mm. Meanwhile, heavy to very heavy rains of 70 mm and 103 mm were recorded over adjoining areas of Alibag and Dahanu, respectively.
These weather conditions have been attributed to the presence of an active off shore trough which is running from South Gujarat up to Kerala region. Moisture incursion has also been taking place from the Arabian Sea increasing rains over the region.
