Mumbai rains have made a grand comeback. So much so that the city has been receiving rains on a continuous basis. The maximum city has recorded good rains yesterday as well. During the last 24 hours, Santa Cruz observatory recorded a good 79 mm of rain.
While the first half of June had been dry with a few rainy spells, as Monsoon made an onset over the maximum city, rains continue to lash Mumbai. In fact, the entire last week has been so rainy that the city has easily exceeded its monthly average rainfall.
So far, Mumbai has recorded a whopping 577.8 mm against the monthly average of 523.1 mm. With three more days in hand, the city is expected to receive more rains before June comes to an end. The active Monsoon trough along the West Coast has become more prominent and has resulted in heavy rains over the region.
Now, Mumbai is expected to receive more rains during the next 24 hours. The intensity of these rains will be moderate to heavy in nature. Also, the possibility of one or two heavy spells over the maximum city during this period cannot be ruled out.
