The city of Mumbai has seen an almost non rainy October with rainfall activity remaining almost nil and only traces of rainfall this year on a couple of days.
There is a Cyclonic Circulation over parts of Maharashtra, and a trough is seen extending along the coastal parts of South Gujarat. The trough extension from this system across Rajasthan and adjoining areas is also responsible for some rains. This Circulation will persist today and tomorrow and is expected to weaken thereafter.
However, another system is over Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas and is slowly moving inland. This is why there is expected to be a longer spell of rains over Mumbai which will continue over the city until October 13.
These Mumbai rains are expected to be moderate in nature tomorrow and day after tomorrow. Other days, light rainfall is expected to be seen over the city.
