Mumbai Rains to be seen in next 24 hours, intense showers likely in pockets

Mumbai rains have been on the lower side for the past few days. In fact, after July 8, three-digit rains have not made their presence felt over the maximum city. There have been some heavy rains in some pockets during the weekend, but these rains have been patchy in nature and occurred in a few pockets only.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Colaba witnessed 4 mm of rainfall while Santa Cruz remained dry during this time.

Currently, a Cyclonic Circulation is over in the Arabian Sea off the Konkan Coast with the cloud mass being over the sea only. Along with this, a Trough is running from Konkan extending southward to Karnataka.

As per weathermen, the Cyclonic Circulation and the cloud mass will drift away from the coast. However, it is the persisting Trough which will result in moderate showers over parts of the city during the next 24 hours. In fact, the possibility of intense rains in pockets also cannot be ruled out.

Mumbai Rains will then pick up pace and get intense starting July 26. Rains are expected to get heavier on July 27 and 28, wherein three digit rains may also be seen in the city. The possibility of water logging and traffic snarls during the weekend is also on cards.
