With the Southwest Monsoon getting over, Mumbai is likely to hibernate for the next few months. It was 15th &16th October when it rained last over Mumbai. Dry days are going to continue for the rest of the days in October and a long break for any significant weather activity thereafter.

Mumbai rains from May to October with monsoon peak in July and August. The month of October has a normal rainfall of 89.3 mm which was nearly achieved in a single day on 15th registering 87 mm and another 21mm on the following day. The month of October has measured 170 mm of rainfall in Mumbai. November onward there are only freak occasions for rains in Mumbai. Deep penetration of weather systems forming in the Bay of Bengal or a strayed cyclone in the Arabian Sea is the plausible reason for bringing showers to the city.

The normal rainfall for Mumbai for the November and December is 10 mm and 1.6 mm respectively. And from January to April, it is merely a trace of rainfall. Thunderstorm activity picks up just before the arrival of southwest Monsoon breaking the long dry spell. Even in November and December, the day temperature remains steady around 32-33°C but the average minimum drops from 24°C in Oct to 21°C in Nov and about 18°C in December. The coolest period for Mumbai is between 15th December to 31st January with the minimum temperature hovering around 16-17°C. Pleasant days are merely a fortnight away for the financial capital Mumbai.
