Mumbai rains return, moderate showers likely today

The city of Mumbai has been receiving on and off rain and thundershower activities for the last four days. The intensity was mainly light with one or two short intense spells as observed over the suburbs.

These rainfall activities can be attributed to the presence of a Well Marked Low-Pressure Area in the Arabian Sea which has been feeding moisture over the city and adjoining areas.

According to the rainfall data available with Skymet, Santa Cruz in Mumbai has recorded 10 mm of rain in a span of 21 hours from 8:30 am on Monday.

Our meteorologists have predicted an increase in the Mumbai rains today as there are chances of one or two moderate spells of rain and thundershower activities.

However, these showers would not continue for long as again a dip in the rainfall activities is expected on October 23 and 24. And Only light patchy rains would be seen on these two days.

By October 25, rains would vacate the dream city and dry weather conditions would set in, leading to a rise in the temperatures. However, a sudden spike in the temperatures is not expected and the weather would remain warm yet comfortable for the residents until Diwali.
