The city of Mumbai had not seen any rainfall activities that were significant in the month of August. Rains throughout the month were even less than 100 mm. However, during the last three days, Mumbai recorded 93 mm of rain.
With this, the total rainfall amount has gone up to 170.4 mm. While this is still far away from the normal rains of August which are at 526.3 mm, it still has managed to not be the driest August in history.
Year 1972 saw the driest August where rainfall amount was just at 108.6 mm. The second driest August has been at 158.7 mm recorded in August 2015. Thus, at least Mumbai has been able to surpass these figures.
As far as the rest of the days are concerned, we can expect some more moderate showers today and tomorrow. Thereafter, rains will become light for at least the next six days or so.
