July 9, 2020 10:50 AM | Skymet Weather Team

After the heavy downpour of July 7th, rain activities have decreased over Mumbai and suburbs during the last 24 hours. During the last 24 hours, Santacruz recorded 20 mm and Colaba 7 mm of rain. Heavy rain was recorded over Thane which is 53mm and nearby districts received heavy to very heavy monsoon rains. During the last 24 hours, Matheran recorded 76 mm, Harnai 113 mm and Mahabaleshwar recorded 112 mm of rain.

Well-marked low pressure area which was persisting over the Saurashtra region has moved away westward and the offshore trough has also weekend. Therefore, rain activities over Mumbai and suburbs are expected to reduce further. But, the weather of Mumbai will not become completely dry as on and off localized weather activities in the form of drizzle rain for short spells of thundershower will continue. Temperatures may witness a marginal rise leading to some discomfort.

Chances of heavy downpour leading to flash floods and waterlogging are ruled out for at least next week.
