Mumbai rains may pick up for some time

The city of Mumbai has seen a bumper first half of the month of July in terms of rains wherein the city recorded over a 1244.5 mm of showers against the normal of 919.9 mm. The last few days have however been generally been quiet. Very light rains have been recorded in the past few days. The last heavy spell that the city saw was in the first half of July and the second half remained calm with single-digit rains mostly.

The month of August is generally not as rainy as July as the normal is at 560.8 mm. Mumbai is likely to pick up in terms of rains. Between today and 4th August, rains will remain light. Rainfall may pick up around August 5, with moderate rains. August 6 and 7 will see moderate to heavy rains over the city, which will be frequent.

August 8 onward, rains will reduce to being moderate and subsequently reduce to being light as it has been in the current scenario.
