Mumbai rains have been occurring in varying intensity since the time of the onset of Monsoon over the maximum city. So much so that while there have been days when rains have been on the higher side while there have been times when only very light rains have been occurring over the city of Mumbai.
The last 24 hours saw some rains, even though they were light in intensity. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Santa Cruz observatory recorded 1 mm of rains along with which the same amount of rainfall was observed in Colaba as well.

These rains have been attributed to the off shore trough which has been extending from the Maharashtra coast up to the Coastal Kerala region. Along with this, a cyclonic circulation is also persisting off and along the Konkan and south Gujarat coast in the mid levels.
With this, rainfall activity is expected to continue over the city of Mumbai for at least a week now. For the next two to three days, rainfall intensity will remain between light to moderate. However, one or two sharp showers in some areas cannot be ruled out.
Meanwhile, intensity of rains is likely to see some increase around June 25 and 26, wherein the city may see some heavy spells of rainfall.
