Mumbai Rains: July begins with a bang as Mumbai records 63 mm in 6 hours

Mumbai Rains have remained heavy for the past two days with the month of June ending on a positive note. For the month of June, Mumbai has received 516.3 mm of rains against 493.1 mm.

Now, July has also begun on a rainy note and that too with a bang. The city has been witnessing heavy showers since midnight. Mumbai rains have been intense since last night in many parts including Andheri, Kurla, Bandra, Charni Road, Santa Cruz, BKC and others.

In the last 6 hours since 11.30 pm yesterday to 5.30 am today, Santa Cruz observatory has seen 63 mm of rainfall. Before that, yesterday, only 11 mm of rains were observed.

On and off Mumbai rains will continue today. Expect rains to take a break in between but good showers will continue.

Mumbai rains are expected to get intense starting the night of July 3 wherein hefty showers will be seen as the weather system which formed in the Bay will move towards the West Coast giving heavy showers.

The month of July usually also will be a good one for the city of Mumbai with rainfall being on the higher side through the month. Expect a few three digit rains in the month of July.
