Mumbai rains had taken a backseat. In fact, these rains had even stopped playing hide and seek and disappeared almost completely. The city recorded very light rains during the past few days. Mumbai rains have remained in single digit making the residents crave for some rains.
The day before, not even a single drop of rains were recorded over the capital city of Maharashtra. However, during the last 24 hours, tides took a fortunate turn and rain gods decided to give a small treat to the residents of the maximum city.
During the last 21 hours from 8:30 am on Friday to 5:30 am on Saturday, the Santa Cruz observatory in Mumbai recorded a good 27 mm of rainfall. However, no rains were witnessed at the Colaba observatory.
These rains can be attributed to a localized weather activity as at present no significant weather system is prevailing over the region. Now, during the next 24 hours, rains will remain subdued and only light rains will be recorded. In fact, the possibility of heavy spells is ruled out from the city.
During the month of September, Mumbai has received very light rains. The city has not been able to receive moderate to heavy rainy spells. In fact, until now, the city has not even able to record a 100 mm of rainfall in ten days.
