Mumbai Rains: Ferocious rains of 795 mm in four days drown Mumbai as Mumbai Monsoon gets brutal

Mumbai Rains have been wreaking havoc over the city for quite a while now. The city of Mumbai has been witnessing hefty showers for the past four days which became very intense in the past four days.

June began on a very disappointing note but ended on a surplus note. On the other hand, July began with a bang giving heavy rains from the first day itself. In fact, in the first two days of July, Mumbai has already recorded 467 mm of rains against its monthly average of 840.7 mm of rains, which is more than half of July’s average.

Moreover, it has been incessantly raining since Friday with the city seeing heavy rains throughout wherein Friday saw 235 mm of rains, followed by 93 mm on Saturday, wherein Sunday recorded 92 mm. Finally, Monday saw very heavy, ferocious rains of a whopping 375 mm.

Thus, in the past four days, the city has recorded 795 mm of rainfall bringing normal life to a standstill. Almost the entire city has been submerged in water causing a break for the residents. Mumbai has almost drowned and rainfall activities refuse to stop.

Monsoon which came in late and was much awaited by everyone did make an appearance, and that too with a bang, but it has now become brutal. In fact, the rains last night have killed several along with injuring at least 60 people.

Schools and colleges have been closed, holiday has been declared for government offices, and most private companies have asked employees to work from home.

Now also, Mumbai rains are expected to continue today, which will add more to the chaos. High tide is also expected at around 11:53 am, which will, well further add more water to the city.
