Mumbai rains expected, courtesy Cyclone Biparjoy

June 12, 2023 4:51 PM |

The city of Mumbai has seen some light rains of 4 mm in the last 24 hours. Apart from this, the capital city of Maharashtra has not seen any rain whatsoever, despite it already being 12 days into the month. Mumbai sees a lot of rains during the month of June with its monthly average being at 526 mm.

In the coming days, we can expect some rains over the city between June 12 and 15 due to the Cyclone Biparjoy which is in the Arabian Sea. However, these showers will not be like the bursts seen during this time.

Rainfall activity will reduce on June 15 as the storm will cross the coast. Moreover, with Pre Monsoon rains likely in Mumbai for the coming days, we can expect these Pre Monsoon showers to turn into Monsoon rains, as Monsoon is expected to arrive soon.
