Mumbai rains have had a good start in the month of September where the city has recorded over 230 mm of rains in the first week of the month itself. While rains have been on the lighter side for the past couple of days, looks like a heavy spell is approaching the city of Mumbai in the next 24-48 hours.
These upcoming rains will be attributed to the well marked low pressure area which is currently over Maharashtra region. Due to this humid winds from the Arabian Sea have activated rains along the Konkan coast and heavy showers have been already recorded over the South Konkan region.
Now as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, the heavy rainfall belt will shift from South to North Konkan region. Therefore, Mumbai is expected to see heavy to very heavy rainfall activity starting tonight lasting until tomorrow evening.
These rainfall activities are expected to be on the heavier side and water logging along with communication issues and traffic chaos may also be seen.
