Mumbai rains

Mumbai Rains had remained on the lower side for quite some with rains remaining in single digits. However, Monsoon rainfall activity did pick up pace yesterday with parts of the city witnessing three digit rains between late night and early morning hours.

While Santa Cruz Observatory in Mumbai recorded 84 mm of rainfall in a span of 12 hours, it was the Colaba observatory which saw 174 mm of rainfall, which happens to be the heaviest spell this season for the region. In fact, these rains were observed in just about six hours.

Moreover, those heavy rains caused water logging in Hindmata, Dadar and Kurla for some time. Along with which, the Sion Station was also submerged in water due to heavy rainfall activities.

Now, some rains are expected over the city of Mumbai today with showers being on the intense side for some parts during the evening hours. However, by tomorrow, these rainfall activities will see some reduction but the possibility of a few sharp showers cannot be ruled out.

However, between July 26 and 28, rains will see an increase and some heavy showers are expected to be observed in Mumbai and the suburbs. However, those showers are not likely to be as heavy as today. Moderate spells of rains with some intense showers in between may be seen.
