Monsoon rains have remained on a lesser side for the state of Maharashtra. Though some on and off light spells have been occurring in parts of coastal Maharashtra and Vidarbha region. On the other hand, Konkan & Goa region has been witnessing light spells. While Marathwada and interior parts of Madhya Maharashtra have remained mainly dry from the last 2-3 days.

Within a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Brahmapuri recorded 31 mm of rains, Nagpur 30 mm, Gondia 24 mm, Nanded 22 mm, Mahabaleshwar 20 mm, Amravati 10 mm, Matheran 3 mm, and Mumbai witnessed 0.2 mm of spells.

The reason for these rains as per Skymet Weather can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which was over East Madhya Pradesh. Which is why parts of Maharashtra particularly Vidarbha, and Madhya Maharashtra has seen rains.

However, now this cyclonic circulation is likely to move in a northerly direction due to which rains will reduce gradually over Vidarbha. But still, light to moderate rains will keep occurring over the region for at least another 24 hours. After 24 hours, the intensity of rains will reduce.
