Mumbai, Pune, Nashik to remain dry; Nagpur to witness rains

Maharashtra has recorded some good showers during the Southwest Monsoon. Though the rain intensity over Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra was lesser in contrast with the rains in Vidarbha and Konkan & Goa region.

In the past 24 hours, scattered rain occurred in the Vidarbha region while the remaining parts remained dry. Within the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am as on Tuesday, Amravati recorded 18.4 mm of rains, Sholapur 6 mm, Nagpur 2.6 mm, Nashik 0.7 mm, and Dahanu recorded 0.2 mm of light rains. The capital city Mumbai also failed to record any rains during the similar time frame.

However, now rains in Maharashtra are all set to revive once again. As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over Andhra Pradesh. This weather system will gradually move in the northwest direction.

Because this weather system, the prevailing dry spell over Marathwada is now expected to end as rains are expected to show up over Marathwada and parts of Vidarbha region. Hence, districts such as Hingoli, Jalna, and Nanded are likely to brace for some rains.

Though the rain intensity over Marathwada will be light and on and off in nature, these rains will continue for the next 2 days. While, Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan & Goa that includes regions such as Kolhapur, and Sholapur will receive isolated rains.

But rains over South Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan & Goa will have until next week to get to see some rains.
