However, good news is in store for the residents of the above-mentioned areas as rains are in the offing. Currently, a weather system persists in the Arabian Sea which was previously a depression. The system has now weakened into a well-marked low pressure area. The weakening system has resulted in the outflow of medium cloud cover over Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra.
Along with a cyclonic circulation also persists over northern parts of Madhya Maharashtra. Moreover, a trough is seen extending along the Konkan and Goa region.
Due to the combined effect of these weather features, rain and thunderstorm activity is expected over both the regions for the next 24 hours. Cloud cover is expected to persist during the first half of the day today. Rain and thunderstorm activity is likely during the late evening hours. The weather activity is also expected to continue tomorrow.
Moreover, hailstorm activity may also occur in some parts during this time-period which may cause some crop damage.
Today, the northern region including Ahmadnagar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nashik, Pune, Mumbai, and Thane witnessed some rain and thunderstorm activity. Meanwhile, the southern parts inclusive of Satara, Solapur, Sangli, Satara, Ratnagiri, and Raigad will witness more rains. Due to these rains, temperatures that have already witnessed a drop will further see a reduction.
Let’s see the impact of this weather over the agriculture
Complete the harvesting of Rabi crops. Do not provide irrigation to the Groundnut and vegetables. Due to expected rainfall and cloud cover, mango fruit and inflorescence may drop. Take adequate measures to control fruit drop. Take measures to save matured fruit crops from spell of rainfall and thunderstorms.
