Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Nashik, Akola to get Monsoon rains again

Since the past few days, light to moderate rains have been continuing over Konkan and Goa and adjoining parts of Madhya Maharashtra. In the meantime, Vidarbha has recorded sporadic Monsoon showers.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Bhira 32 mm, Buldhana 22 mm, Kolhapur 18 mm, Nashik 18 mm, Satara 13 mm, Nanded 12 mm, Sangli 11 mm, Gondia 9 mm, Pune 8 mm and Vengurla 3 mm.

 

At present, the entire state of Maharashtra is rain deficient by 6 percent. As far the sub divisional rainfall is concerned, Vidarbha is most rain deficient by 28 percent followed by Marathwada by 7 percent. Whereas Madhya Maharashtra is rain surplus by 12 percent and Konkan and Goa has received normal rains.

According to Skymet Weather, a trough is extending from Madhya Maharashtra to Interior Karnataka. Another feeble trough is running from Coastal Maharashtra to South Gujarat.

Therefore, we expect good rains to continue over Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. Rain activity is expected to pace up over Vidarbha and Marathwada for the next two days.Thereafter, rains will decrease over both the regions.

Places like Pune, Mumbai, Mahabaleshwar, Satara, Kolhapur and Nashik will continue to record on and off showers. Meanwhile, Nagpur, Akola, Parbhani, Auranganbad and Ahmedanagar may see scattered rains.

Morning and nights are expected to be comfortable, with warm days over Maharashtra. Day maximums are likely to settle in the range of 32-34 degrees while minimums will settle between 23-25 degrees. The coastal regions may witness minimums of 24-27 degrees.
