Mumbai Monsoon has its own pros and cons. While on one hand rains pave way for pleasant weather, while on other hand the bitter reality is that it brings the city to halt.
For example, let us have a look at the present morning conditions, wherein city saw some heavy showers between 6:30 am and 8:30 am. These Monsoon showers have inundated several parts of the maximum city such as Matunga, Hindmata, Andheri, Sion, Dadar, and Powai.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Colaba Observatory recorded 67 mm of rain, while Santa Cruz Observatory received 39 mm.

With this, traffic snarled at several areas and long queues could be seen at these areas. Not only this, heavy rains have also taken toll on train services, which are also running behind the schedule. Reportedly, the Central Railway (CR) that includes main and harbour line services are delayed by 30 minutes, while the Western Railway (WR) is running late by almost 10 minutes.
Now, we do not foresee relief in these conditions as the city is witnessing rains at present also. Currently, the intensity is light but weathermen are predicting that Monsoon rains to pick up pace again during the day.
But nonetheless, Mumbaikars are used to such conditions during the Monsoon season. Such is the spirit of the maximum city that it does not stop come whatever may.
