The city of Mumbai had seen intense rains during the months of June and July. In fact, during both June and July Mumbai was easily able to surpass the monthly normal and even see some record-breaking rainfall amount.
August on the other hand has been very poor wherein only 26.8 mm of rainfall has been recorded until now against the monthly average of over 550 mm. During the last 24 hours also Mumbai recorded single digit rain of 5 mm only.
This trend of very little rainfall is expected to continue over the city of Mumbai for the next one week to ten days at least. It is very likely that Mumbai may end up being a deficient month unlike its predecessors, June and July. Moreover, Mumbai may also record one of the poorest performing August in the past many years
